At a glance
Vinsly is a local-first desktop workbench. Your code, chats, and context items never leave your machine. We collect only the minimal data needed to activate your license, deliver updates, and keep payments compliant.
- No telemetry, analytics, or keystroke tracking.
- Secrets and API keys remain in your OS keychain; Vinsly never transmits them.
- You can request deletion of activation data at any time.
Information we collect
When you purchase and activate Vinsly we collect:
- Email address — used to send your license key, receipts, and optional update notices.
- License key — a random UUID stored to verify entitlement and manage renewals.
- Machine fingerprint — generated locally from non-personal hardware signals to deter key sharing.
- Operating system + version — captured during update checks to ensure compatibility.
- Optional feedback — only when you explicitly submit bug reports or feature requests.
What we never collect
- Your repositories, context cart items, chats, or generated code.
- Prompt contents, model responses, or command history.
- Usage analytics, web browsing data, or third-party cookies.
- Secrets, API keys, or environment variables.
Payments and storage
Vinsly uses Lemon Squeezy to process payments and manage subscriptions. Lemon Squeezy handles card data in compliance with PCI-DSS. Vinsly never sees or stores your payment details.
License records (email, key, activation count) are stored in a secure database hosted on Cloudflare infrastructure in the United States. Access is limited to the Vinsly founder for support and auditing purposes.
Data retention and deletion
We retain license and billing data for as long as your subscription or lifetime license remains active. You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@vinsly.dev. Deletion removes your email, license key, and associated machine fingerprints from our systems and invalidates the license within 48 hours.
Updates to this policy
If we materially change how Vinsly handles data, we will update this page, adjust the “Last updated” date, and email affected customers when required. Continued use of the app after changes take effect indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
